Quote by M Cheyne

"[H]ow diligently the cavalry officer keeps his sabre clean and sharp; every stain he rubs off with the greatest care. Remember you are God's sword, his instrument I trust, a chosen vessel unto him to bear his name. In great measure, according to the purity and perfection of the instrument, will be the success. It is not great talents God blesses so much as likeness to Jesus. A holy minister is an awful weapon in the hand of God."

The Ram

Yes, my camera is officially dead. I came across this pic and couldn't resist. He is so handsome!

For those wondering, yes, the boy did get revenge this morning. I was shaking snow out of my ears and nose for awhile! I am sure he would have loved to have been able to post a pic of that!

Snow Day!

Some of the lambs were up extraodinarily early this morning with shouts of "IT'S SNOWING! IT'S SNOWING!" Indeed, it is. As I look out the window, The Boy is on top of the van scraping snow for an avenge from last year. I'm leary of walking out as I am afraid I know who the victim will be. It is a quite hilarious story. Maybe I will tell you about it, after I go milk that cow. That nasty stuff that passes as store-bought milk looks pretty good about right now from my warm chair with the aroma of bread in the oven and snow covering everything, including the cow, outside.

Missing Leftovers

For Thanksgiving, we went out to a local restaurant that was serving a free Thanksgiving meal. This was the second time we have ever eaten out for Thanksgiving. (The first was when The Ram was working on hurricane Rita duty.) It was delicious, even though there was no squash casserole. No cooking, no cleaning up afterwards. However, I am missing the leftovers! I think we will cook a Thanksgiving meal this week, as I miss the leftovers! Our town grocer has no yellow squash, we will have to check surrounding towns!

You Know You're a PK When...

Most of you know that we drive a 15 passenger bus, er, van. We passed by a mini-van the other day in a parking lot and one of the lambs peered inside after we told her that we used to have one just like it. Her response? "Wow, it only has 2 pews."

Long Overdue Update

Greetings! So sorry there have been no updates for awhile! Let's see, what is going on...4 of us have had birthdays and one is next week. Maybe my camera will start working and I can get some pics up. It's deer season up here and The Ram has been going just about every morning to sit in a tree in freezing winds. Not my idea of fun, but praise God we are all different! Mom came last week and spent way too much moola on us.

The maidens have sewn their first dresses and I really hope I can get some pics of them up because they are just beautiful. We have been fishing, where everyone caught fish, and we are getting better at knife throwing. Trust me, it's a hoot! We would like to try tomahawk throwing next. We canned pounds and pounds and pounds of apples after our friends the Moores led us to some awesome apple trees.

Now that it is getting cooler outside, we will spend more time baking and sewing and soap making and such. Maybe, just maybe we will have a sale page up before long. If you would be interested in buying soaps, lotions, lip balms, aprons, from the maidens, leave me a comment or drop me a line, it may be motivational! Still milking Belle and we have added another Jersey to our herd. Speaking of adding to our herd...
